Instagram is building applications to filter offensive comments in users' direct messages and secure users from unwanted interaction. Well, just like everything has its pros & cons social media has its own cons and we all know about it ie Trolling and Offensive Dm’s.

Instagram recently updated its functionality for combating bullying and hate speech on Instagram, including fines for users who send offensive Direct Messages (DMs). Instagram is also announcing a new way to discourage users from seeing offensive DMs in the first place, as well as the option to prevent anyone you've banned from messaging you from a new account.

This feature would function similarly to Instagram's existing comment filters, which allow you to mask derogatory comments and specify which words you don't want people to use in comments under your posts. Following the implementation of this tool, you can toggle both the comment and DM request filters on and off in a new Hidden Words section in your Security Settings.

Instagram associated with anti-discrimination and anti-bullying groups to create a predefined list of derogatory words that will be filtered from DM requests until the feature is enabled. All DM requests containing these offensive terms, expressions, or emojis will be immediately sorted into a separate secret applications folder, either from the user's custom list or the predetermined list.

Instagram is now adding a new update that makes it more difficult for someone who has already been blocked by the customer to access them again with a new account. When using this function, when deciding to block anyone on Instagram, the user would have the ability to both block their account and preemptively block any new accounts that person might make. This will be available worldwide in the coming weeks.
